On August 29, 2019, gospel singer Jimmy Gait announced that he would not be undergoing throat surgery as earlier planned.

According to Gait, medical tests conducted in India revealed that he was misdiagnosed by Kenyan doctors, who had recommended an operation.

Doctors in Nairobi had diagnosed Gait with a strange throat condition, but tests in India showed that he was actually suffering from increased acid production, leading to an infection in his stomach.

Dr. Sanjay Khanna, who has been treating Gait at BLK Hospital in India, explained in a video shared on social media that the musician was responding positively to medication and would be released soon.

Gait expressed his shock at the Kenyan doctors' decision to recommend surgery without conducting thorough tests, suggesting that they were only out for his money.

He explained that he was taken through comprehensive medical tests in India to establish what exactly he was suffering from.

Watch the video below to hear Dr. Khanna's explanation and Gait's reaction to the misdiagnosis.
