Thieves Steal Digital Literacy Equipment from Homa Bay School

On Wednesday night, thieves broke into Shauri Yako Primary School in Homa Bay Town constituency, making off with valuable equipment meant for the government's Digital Literacy Program.

The stolen items included 93 tablets for the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) training, a projector, a desktop computer, laptops, and a printer.

According to the school's head teacher, Mr. John Ogutu, the theft was discovered by a security guard who reported for duty on Thursday morning and found the offices' doors broken.

Mr. Ogutu also revealed that the thieves stole important school documents, including Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) certificates belonging to candidates who sat the exams in the past.

Confirming the incident, Arujo Location Chief Bob Lang' noted that the theft might have been carried out by someone familiar with the school environment.
