On August 28, 2019, Liverpool forward Bobby Duncan's agent Saif Rubie released a statement on social media, informing the Merseyside club that his client would never play for them again.

Rubie accused the Reds of damaging Duncan's mental health after failing to properly handle the player's situation, forcing him to stay at the club against his will.

According to 90min, Duncan looked set to leave after removing all associations with the club on his social media profiles.

Rubie's statement came after the Reds blocked a loan offer from FC Nordsjælland, with the agent claiming Duncan was in extreme distress due to the club refusing to release him.

"Bobby has not left his room for four days because of this and will never go back to Liverpool again and my only concern is his mental health and well being," Duncan's agent stated.

The former Manchester City player joined the Reds in summer 2018 and is on Fiorentina's radar, having already signed the likes of Franck Ribery, Kevin-Prince Boateng, and Erick Pulgar.
