On Tuesday, a 32-year-old man was arrested at Industrial Area Police Station in Nairobi for allegedly impersonating a National Intelligence Service (NIS) officer.
The suspect, Ambrose Nesta Makokha, was apprehended by Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) detectives as he attempted to question a detainee.
According to the DCI, Makokha presented himself at the station and requested that the Officer in Charge (OCS) issue a directive allowing him to interrogate an inmate.
When asked to identify himself, Makokha produced an NIS identification card, which was later found to be fake.
"The Fake NIS ID he produced was confiscated & kept as exhibit," said the DCI.
Makokha is set to be arraigned in court.
