Wayne Rooney Denies Cheating on Wife, Slams UK Tabloid ¶
Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has denied cheating on his wife with a mystery woman in a Vancouver hotel, and has hit back at The Sun (UK) for implying that he did.
According to reports, Rooney was spotted entering a lift with an unknown lady around 5:30 am after a night out with teammates at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Vancouver.
However, Rooney has since broken his silence to proclaim his innocence on the matter, stating that the woman was a random fan who wanted an autograph.
Rooney's tweet, headlined 'The Sun — Enough is Enough,' read: 'Nothing happened between me and any girl on that night in Vancouver. I did not enter the lift alone with the girl pictured in the hotel foyer.'
He also claimed that the girl pictured in the club was simply one of many who innocently asked for autographs and pictures.
Rooney's decision to deny the allegations comes after his wife Coleen was said to have questioned him on her arrival in the United States.
It remains to be seen whether Rooney will take legal action over the matter, or if The Sun will respond to his accusations.
