Chelsea, the reigning champions of the Europa League, had defeated Arsenal in the final of the previous season, with Eden Hazard scoring a brace in the match.
However, this season, Chelsea will be competing in the Champions League, while Arsenal will be campaigning in the Europa League.
Manchester United, who failed to finish among the top four teams in the previous season, will also be participating in the Europa League.
As seeded teams in Pot One, Manchester United and Arsenal are at risk of facing Scottish giants Rangers and Celtic in the group stage.
