Published on August 28, 2019, Pastor James Ng'ang'a of Neno Evangelism has been at the center of controversy following the release of several viral videos.
Speaking to Word Is, Pastor Ng'ang'a alleged that his enemies have been cutting short clips from his sermons to portray him in a negative light.
"Those were once my workers who are rival churches," he said, pointing out that the individuals responsible for releasing the manipulated videos were once his employees.
He claimed that a recent viral video, where he allegedly threatened to make the sexual organs of some men malfunction, was taken from a full sermon on his YouTube channel.
"I was preaching and the topic I was discussing had me touch on men," Ng’ang’a explained, emphasizing that the video was edited to misrepresent his message.
Ng'ang'a denied allegations that he intentionally releases controversial videos for publicity, stating that he is a wealthy man who does not need to resort to such tactics.
"I don't want to trend, this is my church, I have bought with my money, and the TV station that I am preaching on is also mine," he said.
He accused the media and social media users of focusing on negative aspects of his life while ignoring the positive contributions he makes to his community.
"Why do people want to touch on the negative things I do? I feed people, I heal people among other things but no one who wants to write about that," he said.
