On August 28, 2019, Marianne Kitany testified in a Milimani law court that she ended her marriage with Senator Mithika Linturi after discovering pornographic material on his phone.

Kitany, who met Linturi in 2013 at Deputy President William Ruto's office, claimed she 'sneaked' into his phone and found evidence of a woman who had sent the senator explicit content.

She alleged that Linturi denied her conjugal rights, prompting her to seek divorce after realizing he had cheated on her.

Kitany had previously accused her husband of not performing in bed, stating that 'Linturi was unable to rise to the occasion in the bedroom on several occasions, claiming exhaustion, sickness, but for most of the part he simply could not.'

She also claimed that Linturi exposed her to STIs and threatened her with death when she confronted him about it.

Linturi, however, insists that they were never together.
