Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has been at the center of a storm after a letter surfaced claiming he is wanted by Interpol for his alleged involvement in a narcotics trafficking ring.

According to the letter, dated August 28, 2019, Kabogo is listed among 10 individuals wanted by Interpol in connection with the case of Baktash Akasha, Ibrahim Akasha, and Vijayghiri Goswami.

However, Kabogo has dismissed the claims, calling the letter a fabrication by his political enemies.

"Wale, wanaeneza hii ni mashetani washindwe. Na shangaa mbona watu wengine wanatabia za ngurue?" Kabogo wrote in a statement.

The letter, which was addressed to Noordin Hajji, the chairman of the Civil Society Coalition on Counter-Terrorism and Violent Extremism, listed Kabogo alongside other high-profile individuals, including Senator Susan Kihika and former MP Harun Mwau.

It is worth noting that this is not the first time that Kabogo and other high-profile individuals have been linked to narcotics trafficking allegations.

Despite the claims, Kabogo has maintained his innocence, calling the allegations a mere fabrication.
