Manchester United's former striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has sent a come-and-get-me plea to his old club, stating that he could still perform in the Premier League.
At 37, Ibrahimovic is still showcasing his finishing ability with LA Galaxy, having scored twice in the derby draw with LAFC this weekend, taking his season's tally to 20.
He believes he could still play easily in the Premier League and has delivered a message to Manchester United, who are currently struggling with their misfiring squad.
“The Lion still roars, yes. I could still play easily in the Premier League. If United need me, I’m here,” Ibrahimovic said.
He also expressed his support for his former team, saying, “I keep an eye on how United are doing. I look out for them. I saw the last game against Crystal Palace and if they had scored their penalty (Marcus Rashford missed from the spot) it would have been a different game.”
Ibrahimovic, who won titles in four different countries, moved to California to take the States by storm after his stint at Manchester United.
He also shared his thoughts on his former team-mate Wayne Rooney, who is packing his bags in the New Year to join Derby after a brief spell with DC United.
“No I’m not surprised that he’s going back,” Ibrahimovic said. “He came, he tried, and he did his best. He's shown patience but that patience has finished. Wazza said something about all the travelling and he’s right, it’s not easy.”
