On August 28, 2019, East FM radio presenter Riya Sharma penned a heartfelt message about still grieving the loss of her husband, Bunty Shah, who was tragically killed in 2017.

Bunty, the son of billionaire Vipin Shah, owner of Bobmil industries, was shot by people suspected to be police officers during an operation at his family's home in October 2017.

Riya has been undergoing counseling sessions to cope with her loss and has advised others struggling with mental health to seek professional help.

In a poignant reflection, Riya wrote, 'These past few weeks I have been feeling extremely anxious as October is approaching. October is when my beloved Bunty was killed. It is something I have to live with for the rest of my life and I am still struggling to come to terms with it even 2 years on.'

She also shared her experience of seeking additional help from a therapist, Shilpa, who has been doing sessions with her and encouraging her to do homework.

After a long time, Riya woke up feeling better, calmer, and more in herself, and she wants others to know that help is available if they are undergoing anything traumatic or struggling with an issue that is affecting them deeply.

Bunty died upon arrival at MP Shah hospital and was later cremated at Hindu Shamshan Bhumi crematorium in Kariorkor, Nairobi County.
