On August 28, 2019, gospel singer Jimmy Gait announced that he was not suffering from throat cancer, as previously feared, but rather hyper acidity.

According to Jimmy, doctors in Kenya initially recommended surgery without conducting any tests, but after traveling to India, medical practitioners focused on finding a proper diagnosis.

"When I went to doctors back in Kenya they wanted to operate my throat. Two of them recommended surgery before undertaking any tests," Jimmy said.

He added, "The Kenyan doctors made it all about money."

Jimmy's diagnosis came as a relief to his fans, who had been worried about his health after he announced that he was to undergo a life-saving operation in India.

Now, the musician's doctor is confident that he will make a full recovery as he is perfectly responding to medication.

Jimmy's case highlights the importance of seeking a second opinion and conducting thorough medical tests before undergoing surgery.
