The United Kingdom has announced a $182.6 million investment package to support Kenya's Big Four national priorities, including affordable housing, manufacturing, and health initiatives, during President Uhuru Kenyatta's visit to London. The funding includes $47.5 million in UK Aid matched by $31.97 million in private investment for 10,000 energy-efficient homes, targeting Kenya's 2022 goal of constructing 500,000 affordable units.

Additional commitments include $5.02 million for climate transition projects focusing on renewable energy and forest restoration, alongside $612,002 for green manufacturing development. The Nairobi International Financial Centre (NIFC), launched in partnership with the City of London, aims to strengthen Kenya's position as a regional financial hub under Vision 2030.

The UK also pledged $24.66 million for a digital customs system to enhance trade under the recently ratified Economic Partnership Agreement, which supports $1.82 billion in annual trade between the nations. Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab emphasized the investments would create jobs and deepen economic ties, with Kenya's Cabinet Secretary for National Treasury highlighting the NIFC's role in driving post-pandemic growth.
