On August 13th, 2019, Eliud Owalo, a former strategist for Raila Odinga, resigned from ODM to join ANC, citing a mismatch in political ideologies.
ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi has now unveiled Owalo as the party's candidate in the Kibra by-election, set to take place on November 7th.
Deputy party leader and Lugari MP Ayub Savula announced the unveiling ceremony, which will take place at the party headquarters at 10am, followed by a door-to-door campaign in Kibra.
"The unveiling ceremony is a part of our strategy. We will then continue with our door-to-door campaigns, and in a couple of days, we will unveil our manifesto," Savula said.
The Kibra seat became vacant following the death of MP Ken Okoth, and several candidates have already expressed interest in the seat, including footballer Macdonald Mariga and Morris Peter Kinyanjui from Jubilee.
ODM will also field candidates, including former MCA Pius K'Otieno and ODM national youth coordinator Benson Musungu.
