On August 27, 2019, Njuguna Ngugi, the resident professional at Nyali Golf and Country Club, carded a remarkable 5-under par 66 to take the top spot on the leaderboard after the third round of the Safari Tour.
Ngugi's impressive performance came after a blemish-free round, with a birdie on the Par-3 first hole setting the tone for the rest of the day. He maintained his momentum with back-to-back birdies on the Par-3 tenth and Par-5 11th holes, followed by further birdies at the 13th and 17th holes.
Greg Snow from Muthaiga Golf Club moved into second place with a 3-under par 68, taking his total tally to one over par 214. Snow started strong, hitting two birdies in the opening three holes, but a dropped shot at the Par-4 12th hole saw him settle for second place.
Ngugi expressed his delight with his performance, saying, "I felt great out there today, I played well, almost everything worked out perfectly, I am looking forward to more of the same, tomorrow."
The final round of the Safari Tour will take place on August 28, 2019, with Kennedy Abuto and Justus Madoya teeing off at 8:00 AM.
