On August 27, 2019, Gor Mahia FC announced the termination of striker Dennis Oliech's contract, citing serious and persistent cases of misconduct.
The club stated that Oliech's poor performance on the pitch and repeated absences from training without permission were the reasons for his premature ouster from the team, just months into his two-year deal.
According to the club's statement, they had previously reached out to Oliech without success and were left with no choice but to terminate his contract.
As per the provisions of Clause 6 of Oliech's Player Agreement Contract, the club informed him of the termination of his contract with immediate effect, citing just cause as stipulated in FIFA Article 14 Regulations of the Statutes and Transfer of Players.
The grounds for the termination included Oliech's guilty of serious misconduct, continued poor performance on the field, and repeated absences from training without permission.
Additionally, the club cited Oliech's decision to run for political office, which they claimed would portray the club in a bad light and cause disaffection among fans.
