ODM Locks Out 9 Aspirants from Kibra Parliamentary Race

Published on August 27, 2019, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has locked out 9 aspirants from vying for the Kibra parliamentary seat.

The party submitted a list of 11 aspirants to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commissions (IEBC) out of 20 who showed interest in the Kibra parliamentary race.

The 9 aspirants were disqualified after failing to meet the party's requirements, including paying a fee of Ksh 200,000 by Tuesday midday.

Among the cleared aspirants are Stephen Okello, Patrick Lumumba Owade, Brian Owino, John Otieno, Christone Odhiambo (DJ Kris Darling), Peter Ochieng, Tony Ogola Sira, Reuben Ojijo, Bernard Otieno, and Benson Musungu.

The nomination date is set for August 31, and all aspirants were given a chance to meet the requirements by Tuesday, August 27, by midday.
