On August 27, 2019, Sean Paul, a well-known Kumawood actor, made a shocking revelation about the state of the movie industry in Ghana.
According to him, the industry's stagnant state has forced some producers and actors to take up mobile phone sales to make ends meet and feed their families.
Sean Paul expressed his disappointment with the industry's current state, attributing it to the players who failed to implement sustenance plans.
He advised his colleagues to explore alternative avenues, stating that the industry may not be revived.
Sean Paul also claimed that actress Tracey Boakye, who recently professed to have made fortunes from the industry, was lying.
He further praised actor Majid Michel for turning to a career in the clergy when the industry collapsed.
Meanwhile, another Ghanaian movie producer, Kofi Asamoah, sparked controversy with his comment that whites are more sensible and wiser than blacks, which he claimed has affected the African continent and the movie industry.
Actress Moesha Boduong supported Kofi Asamoah's comment, despite receiving backlash from the public.
