On Monday, a tragic incident occurred in Kaloleni town, Kilifi County, when Davis Mwabili, alias Inspector Mwala, allegedly ran over and killed a pedestrian.
The incident took place on Mazeras Highway, where Mwala's vehicle struck a 35-year-old man who was crossing the road, resulting in his instant death.
Kilifi Police Commander Patrick Okeri confirmed the incident, stating that the media personality was out on bail at the time of the accident.
Inspector Mwala's vehicle has been detained at Kaloleni Police Station, and the victim's body has been taken to Coast General Hospital Mortuary in Mombasa for post-mortem.
