On August 23, 2019, Huawei Technologies' Sh10 trillion ($100 billion) business faced significant challenges after being added to the US Entity List in mid-May.

The move, which threatens to cut off Huawei's access to essential US components and technology, has had a substantial impact on the company's operations.

Initially, Huawei founder and CEO Ren Zhengfei estimated that the blacklisting would result in a revenue loss of $30 billion, leaving the company without any topline growth for 2019.

However, in a more recent assessment, Huawei's deputy chairman Eric Xu stated that the impact of the restrictions would be 'a little less than that,' but still significant enough to push the company's smartphone unit's revenue lower by about Sh1 trillion ($10 billion) this year.

Huawei is set to release its results in March, which will provide a clearer picture of the company's financial situation.
