On Monday morning, police patrolling the Jomvu area in Miritini, Mombasa County, stumbled upon a trailer carrying five sacks of marijuana estimated to be worth Ksh. 4 million.

The sacks were being ferried from Uganda to Mombasa when the police made the discovery at around 4:30 am.

According to Jomvu OCPD James Mutua, the trailer driver and his colleague were caught offloading the sacks, which were tied under the trailer.

While the driver managed to flee, his colleague was arrested and is being detained at Mikindani Police Station.

The suspect is expected to be arraigned in court on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, OCPD Mutua has warned drug traffickers that their days are numbered.
