On Monday, comedian Mwasia Mutua, known as Chipukeezy, announced his departure from Ebru TV, where he hosted his popular TV show.
According to Chipukeezy, the TV station asked him to terminate his collaboration with Nick Chege, alias Kartelo, citing concerns that the show had become 'too ghetto' due to the presence of many young musicians and comedians.
Chipukeezy, however, refused to comply, stating that his passion was to lift the youth in the country and provide them with a platform to showcase their talents.
He emphasized that he would not run the show without Kartelo, and since Ebru TV had made up their minds to terminate Kartelo's appearance, he was left with no option but to terminate his contract as well.
Chipukeezy has since announced that his show will continue with Kartelo and other young contributors on a different platform.
