Manchester United Players Who Could Leave Before Summer Transfer Window Closes

The European transfer window is set to close on Monday, September 2, and Manchester United could still witness a couple of departures.

With the English transfer window already shut, Premier League clubs can no longer make any new signings until January 2020.

However, the European window still remains open, providing clubs with a chance to offload some players in an attempt to cut their wage bill.

Manchester United were among the top clubs who were least active during the window, making just three new signings despite finishing sixth last season.

The signings included Aaron Wan-Bissaka and record-signing Harry Maguire to solidify United's porous defence, with Daniel James arriving from Swansea to bolster the attackline.

But with just days left to the close of the European window, the Red Devils could still witness a couple of departures.

Here are five United players who are most likely to leave the club before the end of the summer:

  • Alexis Sanchez: The Chilean has been subject to transfer speculation this summer after enduring a disastrous campaign at Old Trafford since his arrival from Arsenal in January 2018.
  • Marcos Rojo: The Argentine defender has fallen out of favour at United.
  • Matteo Darmian: The Italian outcast has also had a tumultuous spell at United.
  • Diogo Dalot: With Solskjaer's preference of youngsters, many thought Dalot would flourish under the Norwegian.
  • Cameron Borthwick-Jackson: Four years ago Borthwick-Jackson earned his dream debut for United in the Premier League.
