Three Fishermen Arrested for Alleged Gang Rape in Homa Bay

On Saturday night, a horrific incident occurred in Rang'wa location, Homa Bay County, where a 48-year-old woman was allegedly gang raped by three fishermen.

According to Suba South Sub-county Police Commander Richard Cheruiyot, the suspects, Geoffrey Chacha, Joseph Okinyi, and Fredrick Ojwang', broke into the woman's house and attacked her, leaving her with severe neck injuries.

The police boss told Citizen Digital that the suspects strangled the woman, then gang raped her, leaving her unconscious before robbing her of Ksh.2,000 and a phone worth Ksh.2,000.

The woman was rushed to Suba South Sub County hospital in a critical condition and later referred to Homa Bay County Referral Hospital, where she is recuperating.

The three suspects were detained at Magunga Police Station pending arraignment.
