Webuye County Referral Hospital is at the center of a brewing storm, with workers accusing administrator Norah Omoko of indecent dressing and reckless behavior. The allegations, contained in a letter dated August 5, 2019, accuse Omoko of engaging in a dating spree with male medical doctors, regardless of their marital status.
According to the letter, addressed to Bungoma county government chief officer in charge of health Patrick Wandili, the administrator's behavior has been a source of concern for workers. The letter details a specific incident on July 8, 2019, when a stranger, claiming to be a KDF officer, requested to see a photo of Maalim Hussein and Omoko on Facebook. The physician on duty, Dr. Wilson, alerted Dr. Maalim to flee, citing danger.
Workers claim that Omoko's behavior has been a source of concern, including poor decision-making and biased awarding of increments. The hospital has also been plagued by a high death rate, with one recent case involving Engineer Victor, who died in a clinic owned by a hospital physician before being taken to Webuye County Referral Hospital.
Omoko, who was married in December 2018 and recently filed for divorce, has been at the center of controversy. The hospital's administration has been accused of mishandling casual contracts and awarding increments in a biased manner.
