Published on August 26, 2019, Eva Buyu Msando, the widow of Chris Msando, has penned a tribute to her late husband on the second anniversary of his murder.
Msando, the ICT guru of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), was brutally murdered a week before the 2017 general elections.
His body was found in a thicket on the outskirts of Nairobi, alongside that of his female companion, Carol Ngumbu.
Two years on, the state has yet to apprehend and prosecute the killers.
In her tribute, Mrs. Msando expressed her gratitude to IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati for his support, saying, "Your Chairman (Chebukati) checks on the children and myself from time to time but has no answer to why you were killed."
Msando's children, Allan, Alvin, Alama, and Alsion, also shared their tribute, praising their mother for taking care of them.
President Uhuru Kenyatta has since appointed Mrs. Msando as a member of the Export Processing Zones Authority for a period of three years.
