Kenya Power is seeking a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) amidst a backdrop of scandals and controversies that have plagued the national electricity transmitting company.
On August 23, 2019, the company opened its recruitment process for a new CEO, which will run until September 6, 2019. Deloitte has been contracted to assist in the hiring process.
Applicants must meet strict requirements, including obtaining clearance certificates from the Higher Loans Education Board (HELB) and the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), as well as a clean record from the Credit Reference Bureau.
Additionally, candidates must comply with Chapter Six of the Kenyan Constitution, which outlines the responsibilities and integrity expected of leaders.
Kenya Power has been under the leadership of Jared Othieno since the Energy CS Charles Keter appointed him, following the termination of former CEO Ken Tarus's contract.
