Marsabit Massacre: Suspected Ethiopian Bandits Kill Six, Flee with Livestock

On the night of August 25, 2019, a group of suspected bandits from Ethiopia crossed into Kenya and attacked livestock herders in the Forole and Sabareh areas of Marsabit County, near the Kenya-Ethiopia border.

According to reports, the bandits stormed the herders' camp at 4 a.m. and opened fire, killing six people, including two children aged 13 and 15.

Police Commander Steve Oloo confirmed the incident, stating that the attack occurred in the Forole and Sabareh areas of Marsabit County.

It is alleged that the bandits, who are believed to have originated from Ethiopia, entered the area and disappeared with an unknown number of livestock from Forole and hundreds of animals from Sabareh.

Security officials have since launched an investigation into the incident, and a manhunt is underway to track down the suspects.

As of now, the situation remains tense, with reports indicating that the security forces have taken control of the area and are working to restore order.
