Police in Kisumu County have arrested two individuals suspected of assaulting a census officer in Maseno on August 24, 2019.
According to Nyanza Regional Police Commander Vincent Makokha, the two suspects will be arraigned in court on Monday, August 26, 2019.
Makokha stated that the census officer was attacked outside their residence after completing the night's census work.
The incident occurred after the census exercise had been completed for the night.

"The census officer was attacked by three men who were hiding behind a tree outside their residence," Makokha said.
He added that the suspects fled the scene with the census officer's phone and other personal items, but left behind the census equipment.
The census officer is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Kisumu.
Meanwhile, Makokha stated that five other individuals are being held for impersonating census officials.
