On Sunday, a wave of violence swept through Marsabit County, leaving a trail of death and destruction in its wake.
According to Marsabit County Police Commander Steve Oloo, the attacks were carried out in Forole and Sabareh areas, located on the Kenya-Ethiopia border.
At around 4a.m, the attackers stormed a watering point in Forole, where herders were sleeping, and opened fire, killing two minors aged 13 and 15 years old.
The attackers, suspected to have crossed over from Ethiopia, made off with an unknown number of livestock from Forole and approximately 500 heads of cattle from Sabareh.
Security officers have been deployed in the area to address the insecurity and conduct investigations into the attacks.
