Manchester United are facing uncertainty over the future of goalkeeper David De Gea, who has entered the final 12 months of his contract.

As a result, the Red Devils are now keen to find his potential replacement, with Croatian shot-stopper Dominik Livakovic reportedly on their radar.

De Gea's recent performance in a 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on August 24 has raised concerns about his ability to continue as the team's first-choice goalkeeper.

According to reports, United scouts have been monitoring Livakovic's progress in action, with the 24-year-old featuring for his side in a 2-0 Champions League win over Rosenberg in midweek.

Livakovic has come through the ranks with the Croatian national team, making the preliminary squad that reached the World Cup final in 2018.

Meanwhile, De Gea's contract negotiations with United are ongoing, with the shot-stopper reportedly insisting on a £350,000-a-week deal.

However, it remains to be seen whether an agreement will be reached, with United taking no chances and exploring alternative options.
