Kenya Urban Road Authority (Kura) has announced that the Thika-bound service lane at Ruaraka Interchange will be closed on September 1, 2019, to enable the installation of overpass beams for the Outer Ring Junction Overpass.

According to a notice issued by Kura on August 24, 2019, the closure is necessary to facilitate the construction of the overpass in the Allsops area, which aims to ease traffic transition between the two major roads.

As part of the construction, two lanes of the Thika superhighway have been closed for the past month to allow for the installation of the overpass beams.

Motorists are advised to plan their routes accordingly to avoid any inconvenience caused by the closure.

“Please be advised that Thika Bound Service Road at Ruaraka Interchange shall be partly closed on Sunday 1st September, 2019 to enable installation of Overpass beams for Outer Ring Junction Overpass.” — KURA (@KURAroads) August 24, 2019
