Published on August 24, 2019, Sabina Wairimu, the first wife of late musician John De Mathew, has pledged to live in harmony with her co-wife Caroline Waithera.

Unlike in other cases where widows and concubines engage in bitter disputes over their deceased husbands' properties, Sabina has assured Caroline that they will continue to live in peace.

“Let nobody come between us. Caroline came after me, anajua nilikuwa nimemtengeneza mzee. Caroline don’t cry, I’m here. Ile kiatu John alikuwa amevaa, nitajifanya mwananume this time (sic)” Sabina said.

The funeral service for John De Mathew is currently underway, with several leaders in attendance, including Murang'a Women Rep Sabina Chege, CSs Joe Mucheru, Mwangi Kiunjuri, James Macharia, former Jubilee Vice Chairman David Murathe, and former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth.

John De Mathew's music career spanned several decades, during which he recorded 375 songs and rose to the top of Kenya's entertainment industry.
