On Saturday, Arsenal will face Liverpool in the Premier League, and striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is confident that his team can match the Reds' attacking prowess. In an exclusive interview with Sky Sports, Aubameyang stated that Arsenal could try to fight fire with fire by deploying him in a front three alongside Alexandre Lacazette and Nicolas Pepe.
Liverpool's attacking trio of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Roberto Firmino combined for 69 goals and 19 assists in all competitions last season, earning Aubameyang's praise as "one of the best trios in the world".
Aubameyang sees similarities between himself, Pepe, and Liverpool's trio, citing their speed and skill on the pitch. He believes that Pepe, who cost Arsenal a club record 72 million pounds ($88.03 million), can bring speed and excellent finishing to the team.
"First of all, he speaks French so it will be easy for him to settle in and play with us," Aubameyang added. "He only started training with us a few weeks ago but it's good to have him with us. He's started well."
Aubameyang is willing to adapt to a new role and play out wide, citing his experience playing on the right and left during his career. He believes that the key to success lies in the team's ability to work together and create scoring opportunities.
