On August 23, 2019, Hawa Mayoka, the Tanzanian singer and Diamond's first love, shared her harrowing experience of battling drug addiction.

Mayoka, who featured in Diamond's hit song 'Nitarejea', had put her music career on hold due to her struggles with substance abuse.

She revealed that she had been to rehab and had successfully completed her treatment, crediting Diamond for helping her turn her life around.

Mayoka admitted to having frequented underground joints and drinking hubs in search of her next 'high', which had led to her being branded a 'crackhead' by Tanzanian blogs.

However, with Diamond's support, Mayoka has now released her first song post-rehab, 'Nicheke', and has spoken publicly about her struggles.
