On August 23, 2019, a bizarre incident occurred in Elementaita, where a father was ridiculed by his neighbors for praising his son who was accused of stealing a chicken.
According to reports, the son had left early in the morning and returned in the evening with a chicken in a sack, claiming he had gone to look for sunshine.
The neighbors were shocked and amused by the father's praise for his son's thieving skills, with one of them saying, "Kumbe nilizaa mwanaume kamili, wewe mtoto ni kidume kabisa, kwanza unajua umenisaidia kupata kitoweo kwa sababu nilikuwa nimechoka kula sukuma wiki kila siku,"
The father's neighbors were not only amused but also impressed by his son's ability to find food, with one of them saying, "Hata hivyo jamaa alijitetea na kusema mwanawe alikuwa mtu wa bidii na alikuwa na uwezo wa kujitafutia riziki kama vile wanaume wengine."
