Published on August 23, 2019, President Uhuru Kenyatta's recent moves have dealt a significant blow to the Tanga Tanga Movement in the Mt Kenya region.

For the last two months, the group has been noticeably absent from the political scene, with key leaders such as Governor Ferdinand Waititu, Kimani Ichungwa, and Ndindi Nyoro failing to attend DP Ruto's events in the region.

The Tanga Tanga Movement was formed in response to President Uhuru's truce with Raila Odinga, with the group's leaders opposing the handshake.

However, President Uhuru's recent actions have left the group's leaders scrambling, with Governor Waititu being forced to act as an example to other Tanga Tanga leaders from Mt Kenya.

During the 41st memorial of Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, President Uhuru gave a clear indication that he does not share in DP Ruto's school of thought, pouring cold water on the idea of dynasties staying in power beyond 2022.

Leadership is not about where you were born, but about a desire to serve and make a difference in people's lives, President Uhuru emphasized.

With the wiping off of Tanga Tanga in Central Kenya, President Uhuru Kenyatta once again proves himself as the master political tactician he is.
