On August 21, 2019, Harmonize submitted a termination request to Wasafi Records, seeking to end his 15-year contract with the label with immediate effect.
According to a source close to Harmonize, the singer feels he is being used by the label and that the contract is unfair, with the label taking the biggest share of his profits.
Harmonize has been with Wasafi Records for four years and has become the second most profitable artiste in the label, after Diamond Platinumz.
His exit will make him the second musician to leave the label after Rich Mavoko, who accused the label of exploitation when he left in 2017.
Wasafi Records manager Sallam SK Mendes confirmed that Harmonize had submitted a termination request, but said that the label would convene a meeting to discuss the modalities of his exit.
