Published on August 23, 2019, DJ Kriss Darlin, a celebrated reggae disc jockey and emcee, has thrown his hat into the ring to replace the late Ken Okoth in Kibra constituency.

With the Raila Odinga-led ODM party inviting potential aspirants to submit their papers, DJ Kriss Darlin officially presented his documents to ODM headquarters on Wednesday, August 21.

As a close associate of the late Ken Okoth, DJ Kriss Darlin believes he is the right man for the job, having worked closely with him to develop Kibra.

“The people of Kibra need someone who knows them and knows what they actually need… and that’s exactly what I’m offering. I have been there with them, I was born there, I know what they go through on a daily basis,” said the DJ.

Despite earning a decent living as a Reggae DJ, DJ Kriss Darlin wants to represent the people of Kibra and be their voice on a bigger platform.

The Kibra Constituency by-election is scheduled for November 7, 2019, and the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has directed all political parties to forward names of aspirants and the date of the primaries by August 26, 2019.
