Everton's Premier League campaign has gotten off to a promising start, with four points collected from the opening two matches. The Toffees' 1-0 win against Watford at Goodison Park last week was a welcome return to form after a draw at Crystal Palace.

Walking out onto the pitch to the familiar tune of 'Z-Cars' brought back memories of Everton's impressive run towards the end of last season, which included victories against Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United.

Calvert-Lewin praised the electric atmosphere at Goodison Park, saying, 'When we are playing at home, we hear the fans non-stop and to have that backing from them, it does make a massive difference.'

He also expressed his gratitude for being given the number nine shirt, a privilege he has always dreamed of as a kid. 'That shows that the manager backs me, to give me that shirt number and start me in the first two matches of the season.'

Calvert-Lewin is determined to build on his eight goals from last season and aims to double that figure this year. He has been working hard to improve his game and feels fitter and stronger every day.

The new signings, including Alex Iwobi, Moise Kean, and Fabian Delph, have settled in well with the team. Everton will face Aston Villa this Friday, where they expect another competitive match.
