On a trip to Kenya, billionaire and 2020 US Democratic presidential candidate Tom Steyer purchased a leather belt adorned with beads, made by female artisans.

Steyer, who is running in the 2020 Democratic Party presidential primaries, recently wore the belt in a TV ad, sparking interest from Twitter user @SeasonBee.

When asked about the belt's significance, Steyer tweeted, 'Thanks for noticing my favorite belt! I bought it on a trip to Kenya from female artisans.' He added, 'I wear it as a reminder not to be so formal, and also as a symbol that the world is a better place when we educate women and girls.'

Steyer's choice of accessory is a testament to his commitment to empowering women and girls through education.
