Fatal Accident Claims 5 Lives in Longisa

On Thursday, a devastating accident took place at Longisa along the Narok-Bomet road, leaving a trail of destruction and loss of life.

A matatu belonging to Egesa Company's Egesa Shuttle service was involved in the fatal accident, which occurred on August 22, 2019. The vehicle was carrying 19 passengers at the time of the incident.

According to reports, at least five passengers lost their lives in the accident, while 14 others sustained injuries. The injured were rushed to Longisa Hospital for treatment.

Police have confirmed the incident and are currently investigating the cause of the accident.

Witnesses claim that the Nairobi-bound matatu lost control and rolled several times before plunging into a ditch.

Longisa has been identified as a black spot by authorities in the past, and this accident occurred almost at the same spot where another matatu killed seven people a few years ago.

Egesa Shuttles operates from Kisii to Nairobi.
