On August 21, 2019, Turkish Super League side Trabzonspor announced the signing of former Liverpool and England striker Daniel Sturridge on a three-year deal.
Sturridge, 29, had been released by Liverpool at the end of his contract in June, bringing an end to a six-year stay at the Merseyside club where he scored 67 goals in 160 matches.
Trabzonspor confirmed the signing in a post on Twitter, featuring a picture of Sturridge wearing the club's jersey.
