On August 21, 2019, Arsenal's record signing Nicolas Pepe reflected on his time at the Emirates, crediting manager Unai Emery for helping him settle in north London.

Pepe, who joined Arsenal in a £72m deal from Lille this summer, has had to be patient so far, making two substitute appearances in the team's first two matches of the season.

Despite the slow start, Pepe is optimistic about his future at the club, citing Emery's assistance as a key factor in his adjustment to the Premier League.

"It's been really good because he speaks French and it has been much easier for us to communicate," Pepe told Arsenal Player.

Pepe also acknowledged the importance of learning English, stating that Emery is helping him with this as well.

As Arsenal looks to challenge for the top four, Emery will also be eyeing a Europa League title, a goal that Pepe shares.

"I chose to come here because it's a club with a lot of ambition. They have the dream of coming back to the Champions League and I am also an ambitious person, so the choice was very logical," Pepe said.
