Published on August 21, 2019, Miss Karun, a former member of the Kenyan hip hop band Camp Mulla, has spoken out about her decision to leave the group.

According to Miss Karun, she was tired of the fame that came with being part of the band. She felt that the constant scrutiny and pressure from the public were suffocating her personal space and creativity.

"I couldn’t make any mistake, I couldn’t experiment, I didn’t have the chance to find out who I am or who I wanted to be because people were watching me," Miss Karun said in an interview.

Camp Mulla rose to fame in 2010 with their unique blend of American-style music and Kenyan hip hop. However, the group's success was short-lived, and they disbanded just three years later due to internal conflicts and conflicting interests.
