Francis Kimanzi Appointed as Harambee Stars Head Coach

On August 21, 2019, the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) officially appointed Francis Kimanzi as the head coach of the Harambee Stars, the national football team of Kenya, for a two-year contract.

Kimanzi, who was previously the assistant coach of the team, will be assisted by Zedekiah Otieno, Lawrence Webo, and Enos Karani.

"We have made a big step and a former qualifier coach for the AFCON tournament after 15 years," Kimanzi said in a statement.

"This is a positive step and we are looking forward to overcoming the big challenge of ensuring our team participates in the AFCON tournament again in 2021," he added.

The first test for Kimanzi will be to assemble his team for a friendly match against Uganda in September in Nairobi.

The Stars will also face Libya in October before starting their qualifying campaign for the 2021 AFCON tournament against Egypt and Togo in November.

Kenya will face a tough test in their trip to Egypt in November for the AFCON 2021 qualifying matches.

The Harambee Stars have been grouped in Group G alongside Morocco, Togo, and Comoros.
