On August 17, 2019, Laiser Hill, the defending East Africa rugby 7s champions, made it three wins out of three in the Federation of East African Secondary Schools Sports games at Tanzanian Game Track in Arusha.
They defeated Uganda's Kiira College 45-0, maintaining their unbeaten run.
Earlier, Laiser Hill had begun their campaign with a 24-5 win over Jinja Secondary School from Uganda and overpowered compatriots St Peter's Mumias 19-14 in their second tie.
Laiser Hill captain Clinton Kioko expressed confidence in his team's chances of retaining their title, saying, 'So far, so good because it is a round-robin contest and each victory is a step towards achieving our purpose.'
However, Kioko acknowledged that their toughest test lay ahead, as they were set to face bitter rivals Upper Hill, who had defeated them in this year's Kenya national title.
Against Kiira College, Kenya under-20 international Samuel Were scored three tries, with Brunson Madigu and Clinton Kioko also scoring tries.
Frederic Odongo was impressive, converting four times, as Laiser Hill enjoyed a commanding 31-0 lead going into the break.
