Embu Water and Sanitation Company's football team kicked off the 10th edition of the National Water Companies Sports Organization (WASCO) games with a 2-0 victory over Kiambu Water Company at the Moi Stadium in Embu on August 20, 2019.

The home team, Embu Water and Sanitation Company, started the match offensively but their striker Victor Nyaga was caught offside on two occasions in the seventh and eleventh minutes.

Embu's winger Dennis Mwiathi scored the first goal in the 36th minute after side-stepping Kiambu's defense and cutting back the goalkeeper.

Embu's attacking midfielder Eric Mutugi added the second goal in the 48th minute after receiving a through pass from Victor Gitonga.

Embu head coach Nicodemus Omasete praised his team's performance, saying, 'My team played according to our game plan. I'm happy with my boys despite missing a lot of chances which would have given us a huge goal difference.'

On the other hand, Kiambu head coach Antony Muchiri blamed his team's poor preparations, saying, 'We had only two weeks to train so I have not yet got the right combination but after losing against the host we'll go back to the drawing board and come up with another game plan in our next fixture.'
