On Tuesday, Mary Kitany, the estranged wife of Meru Senator Mithika Linturi, took the stand to reveal the details of their relationship.

According to Kitany, she and Linturi met in Naivasha at Sopa Lodges, where they were both staying, while Linturi was expected to table a motion seeking the impeachment of Anne Waigiru.

Kitany revealed that their relationship started when the public felt that she had given Linturi money to sponsor the motion, which was not true.

She further testified that on the day Linturi was expected to table the motion, he was conspicuously absent from parliament, and they were sharing a room and 'had romance'.

Kitany also revealed that the decision to take Linturi to Naivasha was a well-calculated move planned by a team from the President's and Deputy President's office.

Linturi had filed a petition seeking the removal of Waiguru from office for transferring Rugut from NYS.

Kitany testified that she agreed to take their relationship to the next level and introduce him to her relatives on that night.

She identified Linturi in court and revealed how he moved into her house in Kileleshwa.

Kitany further testified that Linturi used to stay in a rented house called Bitha homes, a four-bedroomed house, while she was living in Kileleshwa.

She revealed that when they were dating, Linturi would stay in her house in Kileleshwa for sleepovers, eventually staying for days, and finally living with her.

Kitany also painted a picture of how she started earning and getting her millions, including buying her own house in Komarock at the age of 21 and starting a business while in college.

She disputed the allegations made by Linturi that she was a 'visitor' at their home.

The hearing continues on Wednesday.
