On August 20, 2019, Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei was arrested in Eldoret and taken to Kisumu by the DCI for inciting utterances at a funeral service.
While speaking to the media, Senator Cherargei implied that his statement could have meant anything, including seducing a girl, and asked for the DCI to be given time to investigate the matter.
Earlier, in his address, Senator Cherargei fired a warning to those opposed to the presidential bid of DP Ruto, stating that they would be taken care of.
